Sunday Worship

8 am: Contemplative Holy Eucharist, Rite II

10am: Holy Eucharist with Hymns, Rite II
(Includes children's Sunday School)

Rite I is used on the second Sunday of each month.

Worship is at the heart of our Christian life together at St. Paul's.

Our two Sunday services offer different styles with which to bring praise, adoration and honor to God.

The 8 am service is contemplative in expression, involving periods of silence in which to reflect upon the passages from Holy Scripture and the sermon preached on those passages.

The 10 am service includes the singing of hymns usually accompanied by organ or piano. Members of the congregation occasionally offer their gifts of music during the Offertory or Holy Communion. This service includes a children's sermon, followed by Sunday School for children.

Both services use The Book of Common Prayer, 1979 and include readings from Holy Scripture, intercessory prayer, the sacraments of Holy Communion and Anointing of the Sick, and blessings for important life events.

Each service includes readings from the Old Testament, the New Testament and one of the Gospels.

All baptized persons who recognize Christ's presence in the Bread and Wine are invited to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Individuals who do not wish to receive Holy Communion are invited to receive a blessing.

Unction The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick (anointing with oil) is offered to anyone in need of healing in body, mind or spirit.

Morning Prayer is generally said on Tuesdays and Evening Prayer is generally said on Wednesdays and at other times as listed in the weekly calendar.

We welcome any questions you may have about our worship, and invite you to join with us in celebrating our Christian life together.
