Jeanne DamsMany of you may not know Jeanne Dams since she is usually an “8:00” person. Her Sunday mornings are complicated since she sings in the choir at the First United Methodist Church a few blocks away (where her best friend and her friend’s husband are organist and choirmaster) and therefore attends their 10:30 service. She has been an Episcopalian for nearly forty-five years and remains staunchly committed to the Eucharist and the Book of Common Prayer. During the week, she works at the Food Bank of Northern Indiana and tries to find time for her real vocation, writing novels. She has lived in South Bend all of her life. |

John LendelJohn is looking forward to becoming more active in the life of Christ at St. Paul’s. Relatively new to the area, he and his wife Kyle live in Plymouth, IN. Originally from Michigan (he asks that we not hold that against him and adds “Go Blue”) they own property in the Three Rivers area. He is currently working in Logansport as General Manager of a spring manufacturing company and has been in manufacturing management for over 35 years. His journey in the Episcopal faith started with marriage and the raising in the faith of two lovely daughters now married with families and three grandchildren. He has worked in various parts of parish life including administration, finance, stewardship, evangelism and building and grounds including long term planning. He is excited at the prospect of getting to know and work with everyone at St. Paul’s. “Let us pray he leads us in the right direction in Unity.” |

Julia Philip (clerk)Julia is a graduate student at Notre Dame pursuing a Ph.D. in chemistry. She is a “cradle Episcopalian” and has been involved in the church her entire life. In the second grade she joined the children’s choir at Christ Church, the Episcopal Cathedral in Nashville, TN. She was a member of choir until high school and served as Head Chorister for two years and Mentor to the Junior Choristers for one. She was active in the youth group there, including taking a pilgrimage to Ireland with them in high school. In college at Princeton University, she joined the Chapel Choir, which performed at weekly nondenominational services. She was also a Chapel Deacon and was active in campus Episcopalian group, cooking for the weekly Wednesday services. After graduating in 2006, she moved to Pittsburgh where she attended graduate school at Carnegie Mellon. While there, she joined Calvary Episcopal Church and was a member of their choir. She received a Master’s degree in December 2007 at which time she moved to South Bend to attend graduate school at Notre Dame. Shortly afterward, she joined St. Paul’s and is in the choir here. When not occupied with school work, she enjoys cooking and doing needlework. |
